The Headlight Restoration Process
Compounding/Sand
We sand/compound away all the oxidation that occurs on your headlights
Polishing
Finally, we'll refine the cutting step to bring out maximum clarity with a light polish and polishing pad
Protection
For protection, we'll apply a 1-year ceramic coating. This will provide durable protection.
By sanding your headlights, we’re removing the old layer of clear coat that has failed and oxidized (leading to the yellow-foggy look). Then, we’ll compound and polish them to bring them back to like-new condition. Finally, for protection, we’ll apply a one-year ceramic coating.

Headlight Restoration FAQ
Do you come to me?
Yes, we offer mobile service. We do not offer headlight restoration as a standalone service. You would have to pair this with another service like a Premium Hand Wash or Wash and Wax (there are some limitations based on distance or location). We service Rochester and surrounding areas, such as Rochester, Honeoye Falls, Livonia, Henrietta, Bloomfield, Victor, Ionia, Mendon, Rush, Pittsford, etc…
How long does this service take?
It depends on the size and condition, but it typically takes 20 to 40 minutes to complete. If the condition is severe, it’ll take longer.
Can you restore any headlights?
Like many things, once the headlights reach a certain point, there is only so much we can do to restore them to like-new condition. Your headlights can look better after we’re done, but there can also be permanent damage.
Why does my lens get ugly?
Your headlights, just like your paint, have a clear coat on them. As the sun beats on it week after week, the clear coat starts to deteriorate. Eventually, what was the clear coat turns into an ugly yellow layer of gunk.
Considering the heat that Rochester produces, your headlights are exposed to lots of heat, and if you park your car directly in the sun for most of the day, that will only add to the damage. Because of the material of the headlights, the clear coat on them doesn’t last nearly as long as the clear coat on the paint.
How do I keep my headlights looking good?
It can be a bit tricky. Typical waxes and sealants will only protect your car for so long. If you park your car in the shade most of the time, it’ll last longer than if you park outside in the sun most of the time. You can apply a sealant or wax to your headlights every 2 to 3 months. This can take less than 15 minutes to do.
